About The Author
Donna Arp Weitzman understands, first-hand, the feeling of pressure. While completing the Harvard Business School OPM Management Program, frequent public speaking, and time as the former mayor of Colleyville, Texas offered their own challenges, nothing quite compared to the personal trials and tribulations she faced in her later-in-life relationship. Upon meeting her now husband, Herb, Weitzman thought her Cinderella journey was complete as she had found her Prince Charming.
What she didn’t expect was a firing squad of questions, comments, smirks and smiles from his old friends, unsuccessful prospects, their children, in-laws, and much more. Offering an off-the-wall, satirical look at it all, Donna details the love and laughter —and the tears hiding behind those smiles — in her book, Cinderella Has Cellulite: And Other Musings from a Last Wife.
“From ring size to prenups and past relationships to age differences, there can be a number of potholes on the road to love later in life,” says Weitzman. “On my journey, I found that the emotional cost was worth it in the end and now understand that love is work, leaving behind scars and bumps just like cellulite. Through sharing my own experiences and the reflections of other wives, I hope others will understand that, with an evil stepmother, stepsisters and a very strict curfew, Cinderella had her own cellulite bumps to face on the way to finding her Prince Charming.”
Donna Arp Weitzman is a wife, mother, and businesswoman who enjoys writing and a good pair of Manolo Blahniks. She and her husband Herb live in Dallas, Texas, where they enjoy spending time with family and friends. Donna earned her BSE and MSE in Counseling from Midwestern State University and completed the Harvard Business School OPM Management Program. Weitzman has served as a mayor and leader in local city government and continues to serve the greater Dallas community in a variety of civic and cultural roles.

Her writing has previously been published as a columnist for The News and Times, Tri-Cities, owned by The Dallas Morning News. As a frequent public speaker, she enjoys making others laugh and opening their eyes to a new perspective on some of life’s most challenging experiences.
